Developing a
Community of
Woodworkers
Guild member Ron Perkins will be talking to us about intarsia. You may have seen his beautiful work from Show and Tell at the Guild meetings.
Ron was in the Air Force and ended up stationed in Newport News, Va in the 90's and was doing stained glass projects. He stumbled upon Intarsia which is on the same principle, using wood instead of glass to form a picture or object. From there he began collecting tools, table saw, bandsaw, lathe, planner, drum sander, drill press, etc. He found that when you get interested in woodworking you can't have too many tools, and wood collecting becomes a second occupation! Ron's interests have resulted in outdoor furniture, small tables, picture frames, and bowl turning.
