6:30: Meeting begins: including Guild business, announcements, and Show-N-Tell (Bring your favorite jig!)

7:15ish:  Presentation begins

Presentation:

The August 22 presentation will include a demonstration of methods used to make kumiko decorative objects.   The presenters will be Guild members Terry Liberty, Devin Felix and Jerry Kehoe who will offer in-person hands-on demonstrations of the principles and methods for creating Japanese-style kumiko designs that can be used as wood art and as decorative features in cabinetry, doors and other applications.   The central activity of kumiko is the use of hand chisels to cut bevels in small pieces of wood that are then assembled into kumiko designs.   As part of this program, members will be given the opportunity to practice this hand chisel work after some instruction on the required methods.
